Meeting Minutes
April 2005
VP Curt Stowers introduced new member Ryan Sorois, friend of member Gary Bell.
There will be a membership drive at Sportsman's Warehouse in Aurora on May 21 & May 22. We will need members to provide boats. Details will be discussed at the May meeting. Bob Martin is coordinating.
The point was reiterated that there should be more member participation and contribution in various club events such as Kids Casting, quarterly Federation meetings and any other community events we are involved with. Participation is not mandatory but much appreciated.
Curt gave a summation of the Board meeting. In addition to introducing ideas that might promote more member participation in club events, it was also reported that most entrants for the State Federation Qualifier are paired up with travel partners, however, Curt Welch and Curt Stowers are still in need of partners. The club is asking for more media contacts to announce our events.
A Federation Appreciation Tournament is scheduled for July 9 at Horsetooth from 7am to noon. This is in conflict with our scheduled tournament for the same day at the same lake. More to follow...
The 3rd quarter State Federation meeting will be at McPhee Reservoir (SW corner of state) on August 20.
B.A.S.S. will require $300,000 liability coverage for each boater in the upcoming years – consider increasing your coverage at your policy renewal date. Curt Welch (tournament director) needs all boaters’ proof of boat insurance - the declaration page - with the expiration date and coverage amounts.
Our first outdoor Youth event of the year is Saturday, April 16 at Hoffman Ponds in Loveland. Exit 255 off I-25, west approx. 6 miles on State Hwy 402; turn right immediately after crossing first set of RR tracks – first lake on left (1/4 mile).
May 28 will have our Youth event returning to Swift Ponds in Ft. Collins (Harmony exit off I-25).
MegaBucks lake location was voted on – Powell was the overwhelming choice. Dates are Oct. 21-22-23. More to follow…
The partner draw for Chatfield was held – total of 17 boats
