Curt Welch reported on the Denver Jr. Bassmasters Classic which was held August 13^th at Water Valley in Windsor, CO. Thanks to Stillwater Outfitters for offering the private lake for our contestants and member/guides. Travis Spencer won in the 11-14 age group with 9.93#  Tyler Rich won in the 15-18 age group with 11.26#

A pot luck lunch was held afterwards.

The DBM Chatfield night tournament was held August 27^th from 7pm to 7am. The winning report from Matt Massey was that his fish were caught on tubes at 3’ to 6’ depths. Every other report of fish being caught was the same – tubes. 2^nd place was Bob Bjorklund, 3^rd, Curtis Welch, 4^th James Waddy, 5^th Scott Johnson.

Scott also had a separate Big Bass pot which he won.

The club agreed to a couple of $100 donations through BASS for the Hurricane Katrina Fund.

The State Federation meeting was held in Dolores, CO on August 20^th and was reported in the September newsletter. The next  State Federation meeting will be held Nov. 19^th at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Loveland, CO.

DBM is co-sponsoring an “Appreciation Tourney” for the Division of Wildlife commissioners on Friday, September 30^th at Chatfield Reservoir. Our club has committed boaters/guides as will a couple other state clubs to accommodate the DOW folks.

Effective 2006 the State Federation dues will increase from $12 to $15 annually. There have been no increases in many years and this is necessary to support normal operating costs and programs. Each club will be responsible for an additional amount for the State Fed’s 2007 hosting of the regional tourney.
